Good afternoon Palomino Families,
All students attended an Antibullying presentation today in our Auditorium during their PE period. If you would like to see this presentation, we have made it available on our website. Click on Menu > Documents > Families
Please remind your student that being kind is cool and if they see something, say something. We want all students to feel safe and to know that they belong every single day.
Thank you for your support. Have a pleasant evening and we hope to see all of our families at our Back to School night from 5:30 to 7 this Wednesday, August 23.
Good morning Banning USD Community,
The Banning USD Leadership team has monitored Tropical Storm Hilary all weekend and early this morning; several crews have assessed any potential hazards and/or safety concerns to ensure that our facilities are safe and ready for students and staff to return. We have directly communicated with the City of Banning this morning and Riverside County Emergency Management officials to determine our schools are free of any potential safety hazards.
Schools will continue regular operations today, Monday, August 21st.
The safety of students and staff is of the utmost importance. We are aware that some families may be impacted and those with District transportation concerns will be contacted. Schools will be open and operational today to provide academic instruction for those who will be able to attend. We understand there are several impacts from the storm that may impede and/or interfere with some students being able to attend and/or participate in normal operations.
Thank you for your patience and please stay safe.
Good morning Banning USD,
Please be advised, there is no transportation to White Water due to freeway closures.
There will also be transportation delays this morning due to the 10 E freeway being shut down at Haugen Lehman. This will affect Cabazon Elementary School, and any students coming from Cabazon to Banning.
Please contact transportation at 951-922-0274 or transportation@banning.k12.ca.us for any questions or concerns.
Thank you
Good evening Banning USD Community,
The Banning USD Leadership team has been monitoring Tropical Storm Hilary all weekend and will continue to do so well into the night and early morning. We are in direct communication with multiple agencies including the City of Banning, Riverside County emergency management officials, and local school district leaders.
At this time we do not have any structural damage and or major flooding, road closures, or other hazardous conditions. The Banning Unified School District will be open and continue normal operations for Monday, August 21, 2023.
Our operations team will assess any potential hazards and/or safety concerns at first light in the morning. If there are any weather related and/or safety concerns at that time, we will communicate to our community immediately.
The safety of students and staff is of the utmost importance. Please stay safe and assess the situation in your immediate area and make safe proactive choices about the safest path of travel.
Good afternoon,
Please see the attached message re: Tropical Storm Hilary.
Thank you.

Dear Nicolet and Banning Community,
It is with mixed emotions and a very heavy heart that I announce my departure from Nicolet Middle School. After thoughtful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to accept a position at another school district.
My time at Nicolet Middle School has been incredibly rewarding, and I am grateful for the privilege of serving as your principal. Over the years, I have witnessed the dedication and passion of our teachers, staff, students, and families. I will continue to stay connected and watch the continued growth and successes to come here at Nicolet and Banning.
I am proud of the achievements we have accomplished during my time here. I have had the honor of seeing 7 different classes come through our doors. The memories and relationships I have formed will always hold a special place in my heart.
As I prepare to transition to my new role, I am confident that Nicolet Middle School will continue to grow and thrive and provide an exceptional educational experience for all students. My final day is still to be determined, but we can assure you that Banning Unified School District is committed to finding only the best replacement and making this transition as seamless as possible.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Thank you for your unwavering support. I will carry these memories with me as I step into the next chapter of my career.
Remember, even though I may be physically leaving, my heart will always remain a part of the Banning community.
Wishing you all continued success, growth, and happiness.
And if someone hasn’t told you today that they love you, Mrs. Rodriguez is saying, “ I LOVE YOU!”
Warmest regards,
Mrs. Rodriguez
Proud Palomino Principal
