Dear Banning USD Community,
The Banning Unified School District is inviting feedback on its Transportation Plan for the 2024-25 academic year. The survey has been opened to the public and is now translated in Spanish as well. This plan is essential for setting priorities for home-to-school transportation, ensuring that we address the needs of our students in a structured manner. We are proud to offer free-of-cost transportation to all students who meet the State's requirement, enabling us to secure additional funding. This funding is crucial for enhancing safety measures, meeting our staffing needs, and improving as well as expanding our infrastructure. Initiatives include the introduction of a student tracking system, staff safety training, better pay and conditions for our drivers, and investments in our transportation yard and fleet, including a shift towards electric vehicles.

Dear Nicolet Middle School Families,
Yesterday afternoon, we were notified of an issue regarding the gas pressure at Nicolet Middle School. Specifically, the pressure in the regulators to some locations on campus is lower than it should be. We are currently working with crews to test the pressure and determine if there are any leaks. The gas company has advised us to shut off gas to some of the buildings on campus. This will impact the heating operations in some classes and spaces on campus. We are committed to maintaining a safe environment conducive to student learning and will make every effort to ensure their comfort.
The local weather forecast is expected to continue to be cool for the remainder of this week. Please ensure that your student(s) have a few layers of clothing to ensure they can adjust accordingly, this will assist with staying comfortable throughout the day. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we complete this inspection.
Updates will be provided as available and keep you informed with any new information as we receive it. Your patience and support during this time is appreciated as we work diligently to resolve this issue.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school office at (951) 922-0280. We are here to assist in any way we can.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your ongoing support of our school community.
