Meet Marcus McInerney, Security Officer II at Banning High School. Marcus shared the following: A few of my hobbies include writing, which I indulge in by writing fan fiction on forum sites i.e. Across the Stars (Star Wars) and Forgotten Realms (D&D), as well as Reading, from the lengthy Star Wars library (Canon and Legends/EU) to the Legend of Drizzt Saga and of course the Black Library (Warhammer 40K). I have to mention my love for Audiobooks/Podcasts too! Above all others I have a love for Theatre, and have been in over 20+ productions including Musicals, Plays, and Dance Recitals!
I love working here because the Staff are just plain awesome, making my work days much less stressful than they might otherwise be, and because the students and community of Banning are truly amazing. The sports teams the High Schools produces are all warriors, the Clubs are always engaging, and their Theatre department is exceptional, no bias included! This is the Way! Most importantly I know that we Security are appreciated and I know you’ll understand what I mean when I say you won’t find that everywhere.

The Student Services Department hosted a special field trip for our students called Polar Express! Students were able to participate in fun crafts, make holiday themed treats, get a toy and meet Santa! The energy in the room was incredible! Well done, students & staff! The Banning HS Student-Athlete of the Week is Caxery Mendoza. She plays soccer, and Coach Adrian says, "Caxery has been instrumental on the field and a force to be reckoned with. Her ability to find the back of the net these past two games has been astounding. She currently has nine goals and one assist with back-to-back hat-tricks so far. A task that hasn't been done in girls' soccer history." Well done Caxery! #BanningUSD

At the Board Meeting this week we had the Cadet Corps lead us through the Pledge of Allegiance. We also heard updates from Rose Yang, ASB President, Nicolet MS, Daniel Martinez Jr., Coombs Alternative Education, and Chloe Dabucon, ASB President, Banning HS. Additionally our Student Board Representative, Ahmad Saber presented updates to the community. Wonderful job students! #BanningUSD
Meet Mr. Luis Estrella. Mr. Estrella has been a part of the Banning Unified School District family since 2003. In his 20 years at Banning USD, he has taught at various campuses and now calls Central ES home. In his free time, Mr. Estrella loves to work in his garden tending to his roses and cherry trees. His favorite pastimes are to enjoy his morning coffee in his backyard, relax, watch and listen to the waves on the beach with a good book whenever he and his family are on vacation. He loves to follow his beloved Dodgers and his favorite sport is Boxing. #BanningUSD
