Good evening Palomino families, September is National Suicide Prevention Month. NMS will promote Suicide Prevention Awareness with activities that students and staff can participate in. Our goal is to help spread the word about actions we can all take to prevent suicide. Starting on September 18th, students will have the opportunity to attend a state mandated Suicide Prevention Awareness Presentation facilitated by NMS Counseling team. During the Board Meeting last night, the Cadet Corps students did a wonderful job leading the pledge of allegiance and presenting the colors at the start of the meeting. We had student presentations from Camila Samaniego, Cabazon Elementary School, Rose Yang, Nicolet Middle School, Daniel Martinez Jr., Coombs Alternative Education and Chloe Dabucon Banning High School. Each student did a great job updating the community on current events on their campuses. #BanningUSD

Good evening Palomino families, Our first Saturday School is this Saturday, 9/16/2023 from 8 am to noon. Students will need to arrive before 8 am to check in and enjoy breakfast before the program begins. Your student will need to get a physical, paper permission slip from the Main Office to be filled out and returned to the Main Office before the end of the day on Wednesday, September 13. Stagecoach Days Parade this Weekend! Way Out West, Where the Wind Blows Free. September 9th at 10am, come on out and join the Stagecoach Days Association and the City of Banning to celebrate the 66th annual Stagecoach Days Parade! The parade begins on Ramsey at San Gorgonio Ave and continues on Ramsey to 12th Street

Meet Maria Ramirez, Teacher at Florida Street Discovery Center. She is a proud mom of 2, one of which currently attends Florida Street Discovery Center State Preschool. Fun fact: Her family loves to rock climb, they have 12 pets! 3 dogs, 6 chickens, and 3 goats. Maria says she chooses #BanningUSD because "I love the grade I teach and making sure each child feels comfortable, safe, and happy to learn." 💚💚

Good evening Palomino families, In order for all students to have access to content at school and home, Chromebooks are being distributed to students tomorrow at NMS. Each student will have a Chromebook and charger checked out to them which they will be responsible for charging and keeping in good condition. Please remind your student to bring their device daily. What a wonderful evening spent at the Banning Stagecoach Street Fair last night! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our #BanningUSD school sites. Looking forward to the parade on Saturday! 🤠💚

We hope everyone had a wonderful 3-day weekend. The school year is progressing quickly and our first unsatisfactory progress reports will be coming out in 2 weeks. Now would be a great time to check your students' grades in Aeries for any missing assignments, and encourage them to complete and submit their missing work. Teachers are here to support your student. We also have Homework Club on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday after school from 2:30 -3:00 if they need some extra help or a quiet place to work. Thank you for your support. Working together to help everyone succeed!

Last week we got to visit the Dual Immersion classes at both Central ES and Nicolet MS. The students were engaged with their lessons. We also got to visit AVID at Nicolet MS where they were working on a creative project of the steps in completing a process. Great stuff! #BanningUSD
